Welcome to The Wayward Rambler
Welcome in!
There's a particular kind of person I hope feels at home here: anyone who's ever wanted a space where they're welcomed without explaining themselves. Whether someone arrives steady or scattered, hopeful or tired, rebuilding or simply wandering through life, I want them (you) to feel seen. Kindness, morality, and basic human decency are the main pillars I base my life around, and I couldn't care any less about someone's background or circumstance, and I want that to serve as the heartbeat of this space.
I'm creating a blog with soft edges and a touch of bookish whimsy - something warm, slightly off-center in the best way, shaped with intention rather than trend. After years of variance and instability, my life has settled into a rhythm that makes room for creativity, connection, and purpose. With starting school for my BSN online, and a work schedule which leaves me some breathing room, this feels like the right moment to open a door, take a chance, and build something meaningful.
At its core, this space is meant to offer a sense of steadiness and welcome - a place where people can arrive exactly as they are and feel like there's room for them here. My hope is that whatever you find here - whether it's reflection, creativity, curiosity, or a little whimsy - feels thoughtful and grounded in genuine care. More than anything, I want this blog to be a small refuge in the noise of everyday life, a place where connection - even through a screen - feels possible and being human feels a little less lonely.
Who the heck is this chick?

Honestly? No one special, just your average Jane.
I'm Lynsey. I'm a mom, partner, BSW student, and someone who spends more time caring for others than for myself. I create, I write, I take photos, and I feel deeply - sometimes more than is convenient, but always in a way that keeps me connected to people. I love the small moments when two people suddenly understand each other, and the strange little threads that tie people together: a random moment, a shared joke, an unexpected thought. those little sparks of connection are what drew me to creating this space.
Why am I doing this?
I've always been someone to process the world through words - writing things down, turning over moments and thoughts in my mind until it almost hurts, trying to understand the world by paying attention to the small details many are in too much of a rush to notice. Reading and writing has always been my escape. I never got grounded from electronics as a child, can you guess what I was grounded from? Books. I'd stay up all night diving into fantasy realms, adventures, romances... and a few Wattpad masterpieces - if you know, you know.
Reading and writing have always been a part of me, I was just always looking for the "right time" or the "right content". I finally realized those don't exist and I can just write for myself, for what that young girl I once was needed and wanted, and that anyone else who can benefit from this space will find their way here when they're meant to as well.
It just so happened that pieces started falling into place once I decided to swallow my fear and open the door of opportunity that was starting The Wayward Rambler - I managed to find and get accepted into a BSW program, my hours at work increased, and it's like an air of calm flowed over me. I can't say why, but I know this blog feels right and taking the leap made it the right time I had been looking for the whole time. I'm spiritual, not religious, and I fully believe in the idea that what is meant to be will be - however I also believe that life is what you make it. This space is me choosing to make something, to build a place where words matter, where connection is possible, and where I can grow and encourage others to do the same. More importantly, it's me choosing to do something I've never been able to accomplish before, be unapologetically myself and follow through.
What is going on here?
This space is essentially a physical representation of my brain — I apologize in advance. It’s born from years of thinking, late‑night reading binges, a quiet but persistent desire to understand the world and people more deeply, and, in true ADHD fashion, absolutely no ability (or desire) to be a single‑topic blog. I’m not here to fit into a genre or niche; I’m not even sure that would be possible. I’m here to follow the threads that feel meaningful — the ones that tug at my heartstrings, the news stories that linger, the people I can’t stop wondering about, the things young me would have clung to, the moments that help me make sense of life in all its messy, beautiful complexity.
Expect reflection, rambles, curiosities, reviews, and everyday human things. Some posts will be soft and introspective; others will be sparked by a random burst of creativity. There will be bookish moments, creative writing, personal thoughts, commentary, and whatever feels right in the moment. I don’t consider myself radical, but there are political, civil, and moral topics that pique my interest — and art has always been a form of protest, a catalyst for expression and desire. I don’t want to be a quiet bystander to injustice or to good people being hurt. I’m not trying to be perfect, and I’m certainly no martyr; I just want to live intentionally, connect with myself and others, and be authentic in an assembly‑line‑produced world.
I fully intend for this space to be fluid, human, and alive. A place where words matter, where mistakes are allowed and embraced, where people can feel seen, and where I can grow alongside anyone who chooses to wander through with me. If you’re here and still reading, I hope something resonates. I hope you find some form of solace — whether in my words or simply within yourself. I believe you’re here for a reason, and I’m grateful you chose to spend a little of your time with me at The Wayward Rambler.
I know, I know - You're wondering when you'll see me again.
The plan - we'll use that loosely depending on the ADHD brain - is that you'll see me posting two to three times a week. So don't worry your pretty (handsome?) little head, you'll see me again... I mean if you want to? I'm going to aim for bi-weekly book check-ins with a possible random drop in, and maybe even a book club where we can connect on socials and cry and yell together!
Beyond that, until I get into a rhythm, I don't want to lie, because i don't know exactly when I'll be posting especially with starting my BSW program soon. Some weeks I may be a writing gremlin, and others, I may simply give a little life insight into my chaos - trust me, there will be plenty to entertain- and daily life. I'm committing to consistency, not structure, so don't think I'm just leaving you on read. I value you and our relationship, I'm just probably 6 feet deep in school work and I'm only 5 feet tall.
Anyway, hope to see you in the next post and on socials. Don't be a stranger, reach out I love to chat!
